Video
I make Youtube videos and I like both mobile filmmaking and to use my new video camera and I often combine simple video equipment with a little bit more advanced stuff. I create music videos, personal "short films", documentaries, vlogs and more. I now since september 2023 use a vlogging camera and an external condenser microphone + sometimes ring lights to do my videos. There are movies shown at the cinema that is made only using mobile phones, and today's phones are capable of more than you think if you only know how to use them correctly and know the right settings, so why overcomplicate things?
I like to challenge myself and do pretty amazing stuff with as little as possible... Call me crazy, but I love it!
My Youtube channel is all about creativity. It's about spirituality, music, digital art and life stories through creative mobile filmmaking.
My name is Tricia, but on Youtube I call myself Trix Joyce, the same as my musician name.
Here is the equipment I use for my filmmaking:
- Sony ZV-1F is my primary film camera. It's made for vlogging so it's a good size and has many good features such as using it as a webcam, recording via computer and it's compatible with most condenser microphones that uses aux connection which is awesome!
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is used for filming and sometimes even audio recording with the built-in mic. I used to dedicate this phone to solely filmmaking before I bought my film camera. Now I use this sometimes as an extra camera.
- Condenser Microphone SF-666 is my primary mic for recording audio directly into my camera, and Zoom H2N Microphone Recorder for recording audio externally as a second mic if I need to capture more than one voice or sound at the same time.
- Snowball iCE USB-microphone from the brand called Blue for recording audio directly into my computer via USB. I use this mic both for my music (especially for vocals), video voiceovers, and when I tried to record video with my webcam.
- 2 different ring lights + one small studio light + 3 different tripods for microphone and camera/phone. I also sometimes use external camera lenses made for phone to enhance the quality and for effects.
- Wondershare Filmora for Android/iOS/MacOS, which is the video editing software I use. Additional editing software I use for video editing is LumaFusion for iPad and Final Cut Pro (still learning that one though!)
- The ToonSquid and Callipeg apps for iOS for creating my own animations.
- MacBook Air M2 from 2022 is the computer I'm currently using. I only use it for editing purposes and more advanced stuff, I have sometimes used its webcam to record videos.
- iPad Air 4 from 2021 and Apple Pencil (the 2nd generation) are used for light editing, but also advanced drawing and animation.
